Adobe photoshop online version beta
Adobe systems have finally decided to go online with one of their best products, Adobe Photoshop – Photoshop Express.
This web-based version of Photoshop is projected to be released in 6 months and it will be competing Picnik, Preloadr, Snipshot and many other online photo creating and editing applications that are already running big on the web. According to Adobe CEO Bruce Chizen, this is their step to broaden their company and to reach into the consumer market.
There is Google Picasa, one of the big album creator websites online, which will also be giving a tough fight with the online version of Photoshop. And it has commenced the public beta testing for its free online Adobe Photoshop Express photo editing service and community.
There are many features that were there on the desktop based photoshop, and will be included in the online version too, some of which are – Crop & Rotate, Auto Correct, Exposure, Red-Eye Removal, Touchup, Saturation, White Balance, Highlight, Fill Light, Sharpen, Soft Focus, Hue, Black & White, Tint, Sketch, and Distort.
It is named Photoshop express and can be browsed on any web browser from here. This was created with Flex, an open source framework that is used to build RIAs. For the online usage of Photoshop express, Flash® Player 9 needs to be installed with your web browser.
Photoshop Express allows users to store up to 2 gigabytes of images online for free, make edits to their photos, and share them online in creative ways, including downloading and uploading photos from popular social networking sites like Facebook.
According to Adobe systems,
“Photoshop is trusted technology that has changed the visual landscape of our world. Now, Photoshop Express allows anyone who snaps a digital photo to easily achieve the high-impact results for which Adobe is known,” said Doug Mack, vice president of Consumer and Hosted Solutions at Adobe. “Photoshop Express is a convenient, single destination where you can store, edit and share photos whether you’re at home, school or on the road.”
