Apple after the launch of iPod Shuffle 4GB has also launched the new version of iTunes software with many improvements to make the software faster and responsive with good user interface for people. The new version is 8.1 from the previous version of 8.02 and below are the changes made -
As said, the new iPod Shuffle 3G made things change, and syncing with it is now possible- Allows friends to request songs from iTunes DJ
- Genius sidebar was for music earlier, but now its there for both Movies and TV shows
- Improves performance when downloading iTunes Plus songs
- Autofill option for manually managed iPods
- Allows CDs to be imported at the same sound quality as iTunes Plus
- Includes many accessibility improvements
- Allows iTunes U and the iTunes Store to be disabled separately using Parental Controls
The new iTunes is a bit faster and the added features are more towards the betterment of iPod syncing and usage features. And you can upgrade by going to the Apple Menu > Software Update.. and there you will see the latest update waiting for your confirmation.
P.S. Not sure if you already did, but there is also an update for the Airport Client, which you can do too along with iTunes update.
Apple is continuously growing and growing.. they are experimenting one thing after another,, i am kinda excited to check out the new ipod and plus i would download this version of itunes right now.. thanks for informing
I personally dont like iTunes but the new features do sound quite cool.
