The inter proximal space between the teeth are triangular spaced space. The base of triangle is the proximal surface of the connecting teeth. The inter proximal spaces are normally filled gingival tissue(gingival papillae). Gingival tissue helps to maintain these tissues against trauma during mastication and invasion by bacteria. This arrangement allows sufficient bone tissue between teeth and anchoring the teeth securely in the jaw. |
