There are several ways by which a large company can create buzz for traffic and backlinks to their online advertising solutions. Press releases and advertising in high traffic sites are the common ways to gain some good buzz around in the online world.
But the main traffic that is to flow in always after the first launch of the website is the traffic generated from search engines. These can be got by quite a few ways, like advertising in other websites to gain backlinks and then rank higher in search engines, other ways might be like Google Adwords by which you can be shown as sponsored results in Google.
But one of the most good ways to get better rankings along with permanent backlinks in your niche, is Contextual links advertising. This is a type of link building in which a website is linked from a specific keyword within the content of the websites/blogs of the publishers.
Here is how a contextual link looks like -
Note: All links which are within content in blog posts are not to be considered as contextual paid links. There may be natural links placed by the blog owners who would have loved to share a website by linking to it. The benefit of contextual link is that it doesn’t harm the advertiser’s website ranking by any means, as the link within content can be considered as a natural link.
Here are some of the benefits by buying contextual links for your company website -
- You get the links for life i.e. till the blogs last, and most of the contextual link selling companies guarantee the life of blogs for a few years at least.
The links can be got for specific niches which you desire and to which your company website belong. - Contextual links are always considered as good and natural links by Search engines, and the links within content give better ranking.
- You can be benefited with some minimal amount of traffic too, when the link is within the post, the post readers might be interested in viewing the targeted sites within the post rather than those in the sidebar or footer of a page.
- Links in sidebar/footer are mostly present with 10-20 other links generally in most of the blogs, and so your website does not get the value of PR juice of that page, as you are considered as a part of the link farm in the sidebar/footer, whereas in posts the links are of more value.
- As most of the contextual links are from blogs, these blogs if pinged at blog services like technorati, this would increase the authority rank of your website in Technorati. This also helps in getting better Page Strength to your website. Here is an example of technorati authority increase to one of our own websites tested with contextual links - Reactions to Noble Directory

Great info - it is something definitely worth considering. I might try it someday but some sites really overdo it with too many of those context links…I have heard good things about it though.
