My suggestion would be dont make real big goals compared to last month stats, go slow, target long term , try to achieve results in steps.
I started with no traffic and now my blog gets 98% Google Traffic which crossed 42000 uniques & 0.4 million page impressions and yes this is all from 100% genuinely free traffic. Dont just work on getting subscribers because thats for guys who want to market their products/sponsors. Target free SE traffic which will always stay.

Yes i understand that i am not here to market any product, but my feeling is that having subscribers impresses the readers and thus traffic in that way can also flow in to some extent.. Though as you said, search engine traffic is the best.

Digital Point always gives good traffic if you have your blog url under “Recent Blog URL” that shows under your post :p
Apart from that, google is the most traffic sender. My teen forums gets 90-100% google traffic and which is responsible for making it active

40 wouldn’t be a big number lol.. I would try for 2 posts a day but target is set to 40.
