Skype communication app just got better with the release of the final release of the 2.8 version of Skype Gold, for the Mac OS X. There are many changes made from the 2.7 version, and those who already tried the beta vesion of 2.8 will not see much changes, but still the Skype team has internally fixed many bugs.

Here are a few changes made in the newer version of Skype Gold 2.8 for Mac -

Screen Sharing
You can share your desktop with the person you are chatting with or calling to. You can either share the entire desktop or just a part of it. This is helpful especially when you are trying to share any presentation with your colleagues and don’t want to share the entire file directly with them. Also, desktops are sometimes shared to showoff your geekiness and desktop designs.
This service can be available for the users of video-capable version of skype, and this present version allows the same.

Skype Access (BETA)
This is a great option with Skype, where shifting through various Wifi hotspots frequently during travel won’t need you to re-enter your credit card details etc. always when you want to make a call or add credit. Skype sets up everything accordingly.
This feature is still in beta, but still worth a try.
