So, David cheong gave me an idea to review entrecard, the latest buzz in the blogosphere and i got some time to write something about it. Here it is -
Entrecard is a free traffic exchange website for bloggers which not only helps in traffic but also networking. You would not have seen any type of widget being this big in buzz and many many blogs have placed entrecard widget in their site, and the complaint ratio is very less when compared to others like blogrush, spottt etc.
The concept in my mind went with - “Why to spend real money when there are free credits involved.” And Graham Langdon, the man behind this, has built it keeping the right needs of bloggers in mind. Entrecard allows advertising and exchange of 125×125 banners only. if you don’t have one, they put up a basic one with your title as the image text.
Here are a few questions i normally see people asking -
How do i gain credits?
If you visit a blog which has the entrecard widget on it, you just have to drop your card there and this will make you gain 1 credit. Although that’s not the only way of gaining credits. There is a shop section, where you can sell your services/links/reviews etc. for any number of entrecard credits. Dropping on other blogs is limited to 300 drops a day.
How do i advertise on other blogs?
Generally there is a section called campaign where various categories and blogs are listed according to the advertising price. Starts from a few credits a day to thousands per day. Also if you like a blog while browsing it normally, you can click on the entrecard widget to check the details of that blog and advertise there.
What is what on the widget?
Here is an image i made for those who are confused, as the entrecard out/info URL’s are different and confusing.

How do i send or receive credits?
If you are dealing through entrecard forums, then there is a “tip” option where you just have to enter the number of credits you want to send to a user. alternatively, if you are sending the credits directly, there is an option in the dashboard, and you need to know the receiver’s Entrecard email address for sending the credits.
I could find these questions that people were in doubt about, if you have any other doubts related to entrecard, please do comment here and i will answer that. I have got some good experience with Entrecard till now, so giving out this free review and faq post!

Nice review, but I have stopped using Entrecard the moment they changed their system. EC became much more [insert bad adjective here] ’cause of what they did. Ah well. Time to move on, I guess!

By dropping you can earn credits and then can invest in some blogs. Some bloggers usually drop back in your blog and advertise too. So it becomes mostly traffic exchange.
It was such a coincidence. I wrote it last night because I was talking to Steven Lincoln and he told me I should atleast give entrecard a try, and I did. Then talking to Bruce of authority directory, he asked what is it .. have you wrote about your experience, and I said well I will for tomorrow and wrote the post. Came back online this morning, and saw your feeds in the mail and I was like darn it chetan … but its ok .. It is completely different. I am just leting my users know that I joined Entrecard whereas you are teaching how to use entrecard to your audience

I would say no more than 90 minutes. Even less if you hire someone to do dropping cards for you. Tons of credit returns.

You can actually surf like normal surfing(make sure you have login to your entrecard account), when you are on a site with the entrecard, just drop a card, where else, you can use the category method as posted by chetan, and select specified title, and visit the website.

I feel like stopping as well. All my effort, now my advertising rarely goes over 128, what a waste!
Crystal’s last blog post..Why Use Firefox?
I spend no more than 1 hour on it at a time, probably 5 or 6 times a week. Lately I’ve been lazy and busy with school so I haven’t really been dropping. There are a lot of short cuts you can take =D
Crystal’s last blog post..Why Use Firefox?
Entrecard boosted my traffic WAY up. I was hovering around obsolete at 400k on Alexa before (to be fair, i neglected my site for four months) and with entrecard, I went to less than 200k for a while.
I also made some money selling Entrecards, so I’m very happy with that. A lot of people after a while, forget the importance of ADVERTISING on Entrecard. I learned that gradually. Even though I don’t drop as often, I still get a constant stream of traffic all thanks to widget advertising.

I dont see “drop” button on your blog
I think they are worsening instead of improving with their recent algorithm update.

I have removed my entrecard widget since it making no sense for me. My visitors are mostly civilians and don’t own an entrecard so they don’t drop. This is only good for sites that has webmaster targeted traffic.
