Facebook and apple into the top 20 Trusted companies, Google Out!
Where did the “DO NO EVIL” motto of Google go? Without any evil being done, they are out of the top 20 list of trusted companies in USA.
The list from Ponemon Institute and TRUSTe in San Francisco has been released, and there are no signs of Google in it. Instead, some other companies like Apple, the biggest social network Facebook, others like Yahoo, FedEx have got good positions in the list.
The Ponemon Institute got 6,500 people – weighted by age, gender and household income to match the U.S. census – to name the five companies they trusted most and least.
And both Google and Microsoft, according Ponemon are said to have some Big Company syndrome, as they are big and collecting huge data, they can not be trusted much.
The top 10 in 2008 released in the list -
1. American Express
2. eBay
3. IBM
4. Amazon
5. Johnson & Johnson
6. Hewlett-Packard/U.S. Postal Service
7. Procter & Gamble
8. Apple
9. Nationwide
10. Charles Schwab
The matter of fact, why is eBay so much trusted by people? They really sure that ebay has full privacy of all the information? I don’t believe so. And PAYPAL? This is more untrusted site. Come on people! You are bringing in some bad names into the list.
At least Microsoft had to be in the list, if not Google. Yahoo made a good entry, although had been hit much this year by Microsoft and its deal attempts. Privacy at Facebook is not a matter of worry, as its a safe and good social network.
My favorite and trustable companies are -
Apple, Microsoft, IBM, Amazon, Google, Dell, Kingfisher, HTC.

The secret is out on the big G! Everyone is concerned about their privacy these days, and G hasn’t done enough to combat some of the bad PR they’ve been getting.

Only reason I can think of eBay up there because it’s so user rated. And the user don’t hold anything back. Maybe Paypal made that list because it is owned by eBay.

Us in the search industry have realized that Google moved to the dark side when they became profit obsessed. Their everyday user base is finally catching on.

Google has been releasing lots of apps lately and I hear complaints that they do not all work properly. I am sure they are growing pains and either they will learn to adapt to these or they won’t.
