Facebook usernames for Better identity coming soon
Facebook was different from twitter due to lack of supply of unique usernames to the users in the URL which was like a random number being given behind the name due to the huge load of users in the facebook database. But now they are coming with – Unique Facebook Usernames!
Twitter gives username directly behind the URL of the website and now Facebook is going to do the same. You would soon see to get your profile URL as facebook.com/username and that would be a very easy way for people to find you or directly post in your profile URL as its easy to remember.
You can search for friends by typing their names or usernames which might be identical for you on other social networks. And apart from twitter, soon people would find friends in search engines too when they search for the username.
The Facebook Usernames feature is going to launch on June 13th, 2009 when you would get your username by first-come, first-serve basis for your profile and you can register for your unique username by visiting facebook.com/username
You should also be getting instructions on how to go on with registration of the username.

Hey there,Intriguing post, although i’m more interested in what will come out of this google vs facebook social network war. I have not discovered much news on it recently, which most likely implies that it is definitely not that far off, but i have a sense its going to mean several huge changes to social networks. In my opinion, i would rather facebook left the war still in the lead because google’s already big enough, and they currently hold a lot of data on everyone. I do not feel that the two can exist though, either google’s social network will take over or absolutely fail. What does anybody else feel?
