Free typing tutor program for Mac – Ten Thumbs Typing Tutor

This free program helps you learn typing with your 10 fingers without having your eyes viewing the keyboard. It has some step-by-step ways to teach on how to type in a proper way without watching the keyboard.
Ten Thumbs has received critical acclaim for its easy-to-use, step-by-step approach to learning keyboard skills. The program is suitable for learners of all ages, and is used in schools, at home, in colleges, universities and industry, including call centers and financial services organizations.

There are some differences between usage of keyboard in US and british places and you can learn that too in this app. It has network support and a set of lots of new options. It also has french and german language support lately.

System Requirements

  • Mac OS X 10.1.3 or later
  • 500MHz PowerPC G4 processor or higher
  • Display with millions of colors at 800 x 600 resolution
  • iTunes 6 (required for Ten Thumbs SongSeeker)

  3. hey i just found this software.. mavis,

    Its for typing only,, it has pretty good options..

    many exercises.. you can play typing games.. like racing, climbing etc..

    it makes learning FUN

  4. I learned to type on a Mac plus YEARS ago. The program was called mastertype. Letters would fly across the screen and you had to shoot them down by hitting the right key.

    This looks like a decent typing program but I bet it’s not s fun as what I learned on.
