It was available for many smart phones earlier, and after the user suggestions, the software is now available as an app in the App store for Apple iPhone, Apple iPhone 3G and also the iPod touch.
All you need to do is download fring on the App Store and within minutes you can make free calls with other fringsters™ or via fring using Skype, Skype-out or any SIP providers you choose.
Fring will be available for 2.0 firmware or above. Setting up everything would take sometime but everything is easy and understandable. You will have to register for a fring ID after download and then provide the login details for various IM and talk services like Yahoo, MSN, Gtalk, Skype, Twitter, AIM, ICQ, SIP. You can make Skype and SIP calls through your iPhone using fring.

Sounds like an awesome app, we can finally get VoIP on the iPod Touch without having to jailbreak our device! Awesome.
Fring is a nice app for mobile phones, i mostly use it for connecting to Yahoo msngr, and Msn messenger when on the move.
I don’t have iPod or iPhone but I think Fring is good for those that have them to use.
I always wanted Skype app on my phone, hopefully this will work but i am not sure if they will charge me for incoming calls on skype

That’s a great news for iPhone users. The main advantage is the availability of VOIP for iPhone through fring. As VOIP calls was not supported by any app in iPhone and now fring brings that through Skype in it.

This worked when I first installed it on my Touch. Now I hear the rings and the calls never go through.
