Get tech news and product reviews at Tech consumer

This is a review of the contest winner techconsumer.com and is a mix-up of both positive and negative points about the website.

So here is one more tech related blog being reviewed.. This is Tech Consumer, a blog of a tech geek who blogs about the latest tech trends and how he is changing himself with the changing technology.

The name of the blog suggests something like reviewing the gadgets and following the tech, keeping the normal consumers in mind. It’s a blog running since 3 years as the archives says! And some posts are the reviews of any new products, some are the changes and updates done to the gadgets which are already there in the range.

For example, take this post about blackberry from RIM. Its simple to read and the focus is on who can use that mobile. Its more focused for personal use than any business professionals. This shows that the blog is based to provide reviews keeping all the types of consumers in mind.

The topics are revolutionalized with many different things being talked about, major of which covers Amazon, Google, Microsoft, Apple and their products. Also keeps interest in topics like Social networking which brings in more audience to read and know about the latest tech trends.

The design is not much complicated, and is good as far as colors and navigation are concerned. Here is what the advertise page says about the blog -

TechConsumer is a tech weblog focused on providing a community where any technology consumer can participate via publishing, sharing, and learning from each other’s stories. Our readership includes the “new to technology” crowd as well as the “tech guru” crowd and everyone in between.

The thing i was not impressed at is the about page, which i always focus on, it is just stating “Welcome to TechConsumer, an updated “About” page is coming soon!”. This is not something good for a 3-year old blog which should have a solid about page to show what the blog is about and who runs it. The owner should really have a check about that.

Again coming back to the design, its just not much complicated which would make a visitor easily navigate through the pages and not run away seeing loads of ads as in the other technology blogs.

Wishing good luck to the blog owner.. and continue with the same work!

I have always been ignoring my blog’s about page, may be a day or two is sufficient to fill it up with a lot of info about me :)

BTW does this site have anything good except 2 posts of articles which i can see on the homepage and 10+ Related/Paid links sold?
