So, as i had decided to hold on till i get my blog more established before thinking to sell private advertising in it, i also think Adsense would be the long time earner for my blog. Still there is nothing that i did about adsense and so i have no earnings from the blog except a couple of reviews that i did till today. There are many other earner options for the blog, like kontera ads, weblogads etc. but i am not concentrating on anything except adsense and the blog content right now.
Am not at all good at placing adsense, so need suggestions from you guys!
Just having link ads on the start and end of the post. And no text ad placed anywhere, so which do you think is the best ad placement for my blog?
I am thinking to have a 120 x 600 banner aligned left in the post content. This would be a place that is the nearest to viewers eye when he is reading the post content. And as the main post column blog is not that wide, having 160 x 600 would make the blog content look narrower a lot. So that’s my decision with the standing ads.
And what do you have to say about the 250 x 250 sections or the small link ads section in the starting of the post content?
Please suggest with the best answers regarding the adsense placement. I just have to rely on public suggestions as i am not the one who is going to click and earn :p
And my friend Jason, had just launched Blog Premiere blogging magazine! You might have to take a look at it
Although new, it has some good reads already and the design looks classic! I would like to suggest Jason though, that he might go for some good press releases or go for John Chow’s buzz review.. when the blog gets some good activity after some time. And interviews of fellow bloggers and gems of the blogosphere would be a great step to be taken.. And yeah, Jason writes things really well
And you have still 2 days left to compete and try to win the 2000 EC credits(if you are my blog contest contestant) and 1000 EC credits if you are just a regular commentor. You might check out this post to know more about it if you don’t know.

I tried Kontera before and it just made the site load slow so don’t go with that. As far as I can see, there is nothing wrong with having adsense in the sidebar. I don’t know how much the conversion rate will be because It is almost as bad as not having one at all. If you are embedding it in your post it will get you more of a conversion.
I don’t like adbrite, I see you have incorporated them. Very low payout just to let you know.

Thanks for the suggestions though!
make your adbrite incontent links little less.
A sidebar adsense would be good.
And a square adsense banner in a post will also work.

I think your current blending of adsense is good enough, on second thought, maybe you can try out putting the 250×250 in between the right sidebar, under latest and subscribe. I think it should fit in right?

But you already have the text links added. It makes everywhere green green.

Seeing that people are not that happy having it, will have to remove it(the adbrite incontent links).
I didn’t gain much from adbrite thats why I would say very low payout….

Ad placement?? You may want to check my blog for ad placement.. My friends recommend that ad placement.. :))
Though, I’m not getting more clicks since I got few visitors, after I change my ad placement into that position my clicks became higher than before.

Still running adsesne on my blog and its not doing great but not too bad either, just need to attract more traffic so content is where my efforts will be going.
I think that placing the ads in the actual post help me get more clicks.

Maybe its my connection here problem, its seem like ever since you have added the underlined ads, its like taking awhile to fully view all your contents. Is it my connection problem or my FF problem?

Hey you’re doing great. These many comments means you’re getting traffic and that can translate to $$$. Just be aware that those text link ads aren’t like adblocks, they open a new page THEN the person has to click on one of THOSE ads for you to get paid. Similar thing with adsene REFERRAL ads, the person needs to click those ads and THEN do something else like buy something or sign up for something.
Statistics say large boxes work better 300×250 and 336×280. And matching color of ads to your site and color of links to your links. It should blend in naturally but not try to fool people that they aren’t ads. Next, they say ads placed in upper positions and to the left do best. Second best in the middle of your content.
I embarrassed Google a little bit becasue they were sending me bad ads that didn’t match my website. 24 hours later they fixed it. So try to limit your topics to keep getting relevant ads.

I’ve decided to forget adsense all together on my one site. I am going to go with affiliate links that pay per sign up and see how that goes…I think most of us have tuned adsense out when we see it unfortunately.

I think you should have it in the sidebar, but if you’re really serious about monetizing, then a standard banner in the header is the way to go.
