Google announces Picasa for mac at Macworld

Picasa, the web album uploader from Google was previously available for Windows, and mac users had to upload the photos through iPhoto application using a plugin. Picasa, according to the Official Google Blog -

It’s a photo organizer! A photo editor! A web-savvy photo sharing and management system in just one tiny package!

picasa logoPicasa is a software that helps a digital camera owner to publicly show off the captured photos in the best way, share them with friends and family, and the photos automatically syncs with your computer folders, across multiple PCs if you set it that way. And now Picasa for mac is a great addition for Mac OS users.

The picasa app for mac would have some awesome features and things that the iPhoto + plugin could not provide to Picasa users earlier. The “it-slices-and-dices” features have many tweaks available for the album makers, that include color balancing.
Some features highlighted by Google -

  • Organize – Manage your photos, all at one place from different locations.
  • Edit – You can remove or add up things, crop, change the colors, fix red-eye and loads of other options to play with the photos.
  • Create – You can create cool movies and slideshows from the photos and arrange them in your wish.
  • Share – The picasa web albums can be well shared with friends, family and the world through the online album.
