Know why Google chrome is getting popular and Safari is unaffected?

Google chrome had a big buzz when launched on the web, like any other product from Google and Apple. Its release had affected the usage of several other web browsers which were having a good hold in the market of web browsers. Opera, Mozilla Firefox, Internet explorer all were affected due to the launch of Chrome, but the web browser Safari is unaffected.

One main reason for this should be known to people who think practically -
Chrome is not yet released for Mac OS X and Safari is the browser for mac users, alongside FF, IE etc.

One more thing is that, when Google chrome was released, it was named “Firefox killer” by most of the internet geeks which made more and more firefox users trying it out and comparing both the browser. This led to some rise in the chrome user-base.

The company Net Applications says that Chrome’s usage has increased from 0.67 percent to 0.85 percent in just a small time, but that would have risen more if there was a version available for Mac and linux users too when it was released just for Windows.

Another reason can be that Safari is a default browser for Mac, so there is an addition of Safari user for every new Mac coming in the hands of any user.

The only thought that comes would be that whether Chrome when released for mac, would be able to take over the user base of Safari in considerable amount of time? Safari also has sleek design but am not satisfied with its user-interface so i use Firefox in my mac and waiting for the Chrome release.

I had this in my mind that Safari is available as a default browser, but one question – How much percentage of online surfers use mac?
