Google News has made a small improvement in their design, including the Author names below the news source and title which can give more exposure to the authors and you can now check what your favorite bloggers/authors have written lately, that was worth reading and indexing in the news site of Google.

Just like what you see in Techmeme, there will be the author names and link to their search pages just below the post title, as you see in this below screenshot.

Its beneficial for both, the bloggers and also the readers. Bloggers get benefited by getting popular and noticed by people and the readers can read the news and write-ups made by their favorite bloggers.
And you can have an option to subscribe to any author and get notified by mail, through Google alerts for specific authors through Google news. Search for the author and then you will find the RSS link in the left sidebar bottom.
