AJ, you didn't get it..he just said that SWITCHING OFF and ON THE PHONE will consume the battery more than if you would use OFFLINE mode, this is just in case you really need to shut it down somehow. so this is a very smart trick, thank you..think about an engine that absorbes 8x times the energy when is powered on than when it normally functioning. hope you get me. thanks again for this tips, i have N73 for 3 years, and half of them are new to me.

That are all true, except for one.
It's not good to switch in offline mode! What if someone's calling you, he/she will not reach you.

Anyway, that tip will be a big help to save battery life(not increase battery life!)

I have been reading up on this subject for a while & always get obvious answers like the above.
I'm sick of seeing them.
this is how it works for me, I own 2 Nokia 6120c's, for coming up to 2 1/2 years now.
One acts as the phone the other a charging station. so thats 2 batterys i use.
we all know that with these advanced smart phones with proper constant use i.e gaming, emulators, word task, internet, bluetooth(heavy use) & multitasking there is a stanard amongst these types of phone to be dead around the 2 hours mark.
that wont change unless you only use the phone as a phone for short calls & texts only but that defeats the point of it being a smart phone dont it.
there is somthing called a ZERO point in all rechrage batterys, when your phone gets there it dies & its time to recharge.
if you wait for this & then charge. You will like me have had a great 2 1/2 years and still going strong battery's that still deliver roughly the same amount of power as the day i first used them.
on the other hand it you charge the phone at any given point thinking ahh i give it a little more juice for later. or get into the routine of charging when you go to bed with a quater or more of battery left, Then as stated above you will see a battery life of 400 charges, but thats not battery life thats charge life.
Any charge that is done when the battery is not dead resets the Zero point which sortends the amount of charge the batt holds.
which is why you get the sittuations where you end up charging your phones all day & night only to get a fraction of its original batt life.
2 1/2 years of charging my batterys 2 to 3 times in a night each(at work that is. I do 12 hour shifts by myself) with 2 hours of use each. is a living testament to what i have said.
A quick brief estimate is that i have got 1000+ charges for each battery so far.
A batterys life is in your control.
