Web hosting is one of the most important parts for setting up a website or blog. Web hosting is one of the most competitive business in the web world and the web host companies just try to get more organic traffic and try to rank for the most common keywords related to web hosting that people search. But is that what people expect to happen?
Choosing a perfect web hosting company has never been an easy task for any webmaster.
I always see people reporting something bad about a particular web host and then moving on to the other host. This may be due to some or the other error or problems with the host and client, but the one who suffers here is the website owner, who can lose traffic, subscribers etc. seeing the site down for some considerable amount of time.
So i thought i must list out some good hosting tips, on how to select the best web hosting provider -
Downtime to be the least - There are many web hosts that are themselves down for many hours, and the websites they host are also down the same time. And the main point to be considering about this is that the visitor of your site does not need that to be down and not loading, just because of your shitty host. Also check how fast that host is being connected, by just checking some of their clients sites too, whether they are loading or not, and if yes, what’s the speed etc.

Customer satisfaction - This point can be judged by reading a few reviews about the web host you are checking for. Once you are recommended about a web host, you must first read a few reviews about it and then try to make a decision. See how the other customers explain the things and whether they are satisfied with them or not! Blind selection of web hosts will make you mad later.
Pricing - This will be a point of concern for every person who wants to host his site, they would try to get the most reasonable hosting prices. But pricing always does not match the quality, you should keep this point in mind. High priced hosts are always not good, and low cost hosts are not bad always. So always keep in mind, don’t go with the pricing.
Their customer support - Once you have hosted your site somewhere and you are facing any problems with it, the first thing you do is contact your host, wither through live support/mail contact. But most would try for live support as people don’t like hosting issues to last long. But many hosts still lag behind in giving good support and having a dedicated contact team, which sucks a lot. Be sure to try contacting the host company through live support and see how active they are.
Software used - It should always be seen by you that you are going to get the best cpanel software for usage, that should not create a problem and confusion for you in the future.
Trust and reviews - As already explained, be sure to check how much others trust a web host company and what the reviews say. Trust is the main key for best business and building trust is very hard where competition is really large, and once a person gains trust in a company, it sure is of some good value.
Now, thinking about which hosts are the best, i would suggest you the following one’s -
- HostBrains where this blog is hosted, and the most recommended by me. I will write a review about this later! And Btw, you get 20% discount if you buy hosting there and place the coupon code “thewwwblog”
- HostGator - Many people are satisfied, especially bloggers. $9.95 a month can get your unlimited domains hosted.
- Bluehost - A good time recommended web hosting company. If you take $6.95 hosting package, you get the domain name for free.
- HostMonster - Single hosting account can manage unlimited domains, and has good packages.
- HostPapa - As low as $5.95 per month, and well reputed company.

I use 1and1 - I’ve heard so many people say how much they have had problems with them or hate them or whatever but they really have been great for me. They’re easy to use, less than 1 min hold time on the phone - fast email responses too. They’ve got everything from standard shared hosting for $5 a month w/2 free domains to VPS & beyond for people w/more serious projects than my humble little blogs.

I got different hosting for seo purposes. i got one from icdsoft.com which i really love with great service although they are expensive. i also got one from 3ix.org which i really hate because of their disappointing uptime. and another from my friends’ reseller hosting which is quite good. i’m planning to grab another host some time.

Whoa this is awesome! Thanks for the info, I’ve been on the hunt for hosting companies after I purchased my first-ever domain name, but eventually settled on a friend on bluehost to host for me.
ARe there lower-budgeted ones (for small scale sites)? I prefer annual charges of less than $20.00.
