This is a free theme named Multi Glass Suite and its just a classy one for Linux Mint users. And it comes for Linux mint version between 3.0 and 4.0, and is a Stunning Gnome GDM logon theme.
Here is how you can download and install it -
- Download Linux Mint Glass suite, a 452 KB file.
- Save the file, and right-click to extract the contents. Inside the new extracted folder, you will find the GDM theme (as a tar.gz archive ready to install; the wallpaper image, and the Gnome Splash.)
- To install the GDM theme, save the tarball somewhere in your home directory. Open Mintmenu and navigate to Administration -> Login Window. Click the tab for “Local” then click the “add” button. Navigate to where you saved the tarball. Click the little circle radio button adjacent to the theme’s screenshot.
- To Install the Gnome Splash, Open Mintumenu and navigate to “Preferences”" and open Splash Screens. This will open the Gnome splash screen manager for you. This little program makes managing gnome splash screens a snap. To install it, open Synaptic package manager and search for “gnome splash”. In the applet that opens, click add, then browse to the Gnome Splash *.png file. Click to highlight the file, and select “Activate”. Close the applet.
- Install the wallpapers which are of 2 sizes – 1280×1024 and 1440×900 (widescreen).
- And the theme is installed.

Ok, I really like the logon screen which I installed. However, where is the application dock similar to the one in MAC OS X? There’s no mention of it!
Thank you!
