How to use twitter with a Nokia Mobile Phone
Twitter has gone into minds of every person who is into blogging or social networking, being a good tool for updating their status, or checking what their friends do, or just for marketing a product or a website.
People don’t like restricted to use a computer to use twitter, and they love when its possible to tweet and get involved in interactions through a mobile phone.
I thought i would write a series of posts for mobile phone users to take advantage of twitter from mobile phones, and first one goes for Nokia mobile phones.
So here are the main things -
- Using twitter on the mobile, similar to how you use on the computer
- Uploading pictures to twitter from a mobile phone
- Uploading videos from mobile to share on twitter
Ok, so starting off with Twitter updating, replying and direct messaging etc. there has been some good softwares which later failed and also, the mobile version of the twitter site has not produced well. Because, the mobile version at m.twitter.com does not show how to send or receive direct messages, getting notifications for that and there is no page to check the replies you get.
There is a software called Twibble mobile which is a good service for Symbian S60 mobile phones, the OS on which most of the Nokia smartphones run. It is known to work very well on Nokia mobiles.
Some users who are already using Fring for their instant messaging options, have the option to use twitter along with the IM services like Yahoo, Gtalk, AIM etc.
If you don’t want to install a software, and also don’t like twitter mobile website, then you can try Slandr Mobile Twitter from your mobile brwoser which has a lot of options.
How to upload pictures and share on twitter directly?
Sharing pictures on twitter from a computer is nothing hard, but sending the same from a mobile phone and then sharing onto twitter is not directly an option for anyone. For those who want the perfect way to do so, then try Shozu which helps to upload pictures from mobile and then sharing in various sites, in which you can add Twitpic.com as a CC Site and once you upload the pic, it would be then shared on twitter too.
Visual twitter is another way of getting images shared on twitter. Send a picture from your cameraphone to me@visualtwitter.com and then your image gets shared easily onto twitter.
MobyPicture - Shoot n’ share option to upload pictures and post into twitter and many other social networking sites, and also into your blogs directly.
Videos sharing on twitter -
Its not a possible option to share videos directly with twitter friends, but Qik.com has an option to let your friends know when you are live streaming from your mobile phone on Qik site.
I am limited to only these sites and resources as this guide is only for Twitter on Nokia mobile phones which mostly run on Symbian S60 series operating system.
