HP, the always popular notebook brand has continued as the leader in notebook sales worldwide and has been holding about 20% of shares in the sales.
It has not gone down since long time and is way ahead of the #2 Dell which has 15% shares.
Apple , with its new released Macbook Air, got enough popular to move up from #8 to #7 worldwide.
The big downfall is seen with Sony who was at #6, then gone down to #7 and now to #9 position. Is this due to the higher compared prices than the same configured notebooks as lesser prices in other brands.
Around 50% of notebooks of panel size 15.4″ 1280 × 800 have been shipped and the 2nd most needed panel size was 14.1″ 1280 × 800.
Here are the top 9 notebook brands with decreasing order of their sales and shares -

HP might be at the top of the chart, but personaly i like Dell laptops compared to HP. All the notebooks in the new Dell XPS series are excellent. I didnt find a notebook with similar featutes & price in other brands.
i was using HP previously but now i have jumped to VAIO with high config for my needful.

@ Pras : If you google about Dell XPS they are the sellers which have the most problems like getting heated quickly etc.
@ Puneet : Chetan is busy in his practical exams at the campus. Also Vaio Rocks right
