FTP is called File Transfer Protocol and is a software that connects a local computer to the website server to make communications for the file transfer into the website. For webmasters, this software is the most essential one for building websites and pages. They help in sending files to servers, downloading from there and also uploading entire websites or web pages.
FTP softwares for windows are in abundance, but for Mac there are a few and one of them is Cyberduck which works perfectly for mac users who were using the FTP clients in Windows already. Here is how you can install the Cyberduck FTP app in your Macbook –
- Download the Cyberduck app from here.
- Open the .dmg file which you downloaded. It will open a bunch of files, out of which there is Cyberduck icon which is the FTP application.
- Now, drag the icon to your Applications folder to have it embedded into your mac. You can search for it directly from your Spotlight search anytime and open it to transfer files.
- There is no specific process of installation of Cyberduck, so its the easiest way to have an FTP program in your macbook.
