Instant messaging is one of the daily activities, whether it is a webmaster, or a blogger, or a normal web surfer. People chat through many messengers like Yahoo Messenger, MSN messenger, Skype, AIM, Gtalk etc. Most of the time is wasted chatting with friends, putting up unnecessary talks etc. So why not lessen the time spent here by practicing more instant messaging shortcuts?
For total of 100 characters shortened to 40 characters, it is some good time saved.
Here are some good instant messaging shortcuts that people use very frequently and others should practice using them while messaging.

- lol - laughing out loud
- sry - sorry
- ttyl - talk to you later
- brb - be right back
- bbl - be back later
- omg - oh my god!
- l8r - later
- idk - i don’t know
- nm - nothing much
- tc - take care
- afk - away from keyboard
- nvm - never mind
- lmao - laughing my a*s off
- tom - tomorrow
- b4n - bye for now
- gr8 - great
- oic- oh! I see
- pls or plz - please
- sos - same old sh*t
