iPhone 3GS Overheating? Battery Issues
After the release of the new iPhone 3GS, not most but many users have reported about the overheating problem of the phone, and a few saying that its so extreme to cause browning of the white back portion of the phone. And Wired, the gadget blog reports that its mainly due to the battery, the phone is getting overheated.
Excess talking, or playing games, or browsing the web from the iPhone 3GS was causing the overheat and that was when it was not covered with any rubber cover, or else the condition would have worsened. It does look odd when the boasted white color on the back turns brown due to the heat produced.

Even Melissa J. Perenson reported in PCWorld blog –
I don’t recall how long I had been using the handset, but I was making my way steadily along The Oregon Trail, thank you. And at some point, I became aware the handset had become very hot. Very, very hot — not just on the back, but the entire length of the front face, too. I was using a game, and then later the Web browser for reading the news about Michael Jackson, all over a Wi-Fi connection while plugged in. And in those circumstances, well…toasty doesn’t even describe how surprisingly hot it got. It was too hot to even put the phone against my face.
After this, many people in Apple forums and blogs started reporting the same problems when using Wi-Fi for long or gaming. And when its Battery problem behind the heating, its risky as it can cause explosion by causing pressure on the external structures and getting bulged.
When the iPhone 3GS battery gets overheated, it gets drained pretty fast and the battery life is also affected due to that. When its a gadget mostly for entertainment, reducing the usage would take out all the geekiness of it. Apple should take care of it and check for the battery issues before the new buyers suffer with the damaged and overheating battery handsets.
Earlier to this, once Apple iPhone 3G battery draining problems were reported and then people stopped complaining when software update was released.
