iOS 6.1 is the latest OS version for the Apple iOS devices, and although not everyone would have upgraded their iOS device to the latest version they might be struggling to get the iOS 6.0.x or the iOS 6.1 version now jailbroken using the various options, until now. But Evasi0n tool has come out, and it is the perfect and easiest way to jailbreak any iOS device with the iOS 6.x version in it. That could be the iPhone, iPod Touch or the iPad any generation. The video below would show how the jailbreaking is done, in an easy way using the tool.
You need to have the device with the iOS 6.x version, i.e. anything from iOS 6.0 to 6.1 and even the latest 6.1 version is fine. Have things ready with the Evasi0n tool for your OS, and the USB cable for the connection of the iOS device with your PC. Before starting the process, do take a backup of the iOS device and you may be able to recover that if at all the device data gets lost during the jailbreaking process, although that wasn’t the case when we did the jailbreak of the Apple iPad Mini.
Step-by-step guide on how to jailbreak iOS 6.1 version device:
Connect the device to the computer, open the downloaded zip or dmg file of Evasi0n and then open the evasi0n file. If you have the device connected already, it would show you that it is compatible for the jailbreak, and then you need to hit Jailbreak for the process to start.
While the process is going on, the data is injected into the iPad so that after it reboots, it is able to accept the main jailbreak data and the Cydia contents.
Once the iOS device reboots, it gets ready for the stage 2 of injection of jailbreak data, and during this entire process the device has to be connected to the computer through the USB cable, and you don’t need to touch the device.
After the jailbreak data is injected, the Cydia and its packages list is uploaded to the device and that would almost finish the job to be done by the Evasi0n tool, with only one step remaining.
As soon as the Cydia and its packages list is uploaded you need to check the apps list in the iOS device and there you would see a Jailbreak icon, and upon hitting that the screen becomes black for second and goes back to the home screen, and then the tool would do the final process, which is the preparation of the final jailbreak data.
The jailbreak completes here, and as shown in the video the rest of the process happens in the device itself.
The device we jailbroke here is the iPad Mini from Apple, and thus after the jailbreak is done we tried to open evasi0n again to check what message appears, and it says that the iPad Mini is already jailbroken.
