Kingston launches 256GB USB flash drives

Kingston Technology Europe Ltd, one of the best known brands for memory products, has launched the biggest storage capacity flash drives, i.e. 256GB USB flash drives.
Called as the Kingston DataTraveler 300 flash drive, it can help you carry data which a normal netbook or laptop can not. The netbooks generally come with 60-120GB hard drive, and this more than double their data storage. With such a large capacity, it is suitable for everyone from the field of designing to business, who need to carry their total portfolio to get their work/business done.

Antoine Harb, business development manager for Kingston Technology in the Middle East said -

“Business and individual users are increasingly demanding storage devices capable of managing huge amounts of data, used for work or entertainment. Carrying an external hard drive can sometimes be an obstacle. With size, security and convenience of accessibility, the DataTraveler 300 enables users to carry huge volumes of data with them everywhere they go – up to 365 CDs for example, for video, music and gaming enthusiasts, that’s one album or game for every day of the year. This demonstrates how far flash technology has developed.
Business users and consumers can also safeguard their data by initializing the Password Traveler software which will allow them to password protect their data in a privacy zone without the need of administrator rights.”

This USB flash drive is enhanced for Windows ReadyBoost for Windows Vista based systems, and like Kingston generally does, this drive also has a capped design which can push in the USB connector inside the body and protect it when the USB is not in used.
The USB flash drive will be available with 5-year warranty, and the data transfer rates are upto 20 MB/sec for reading, and 10MB/sec for writing files. There is also a Password Traveler security software embedded to work with Windows. And similar to any other USB drive, the Datatraveler 300 flash drive won’t require any installation etc. Just plug and use.

The Kingston Datatraveler 300 is available on-order only. And you have to contact the retailers to place the order, and buy it.
