cheap laptopsThe least price of a computer/laptop going to be released – $10 i.e. INR 500.
It was a while ago when Massachusetts Institute of Technology were introducing the $100 laptops and that plan was not so successful as i see no one running those $100 laptops as they did not get one.

So, Indian top institutes – Indian Institute of Technology, Chennai, and the Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore are into the process of building the Mini computers which would cost just $10. And the prototype of this is going to be shown in Tirupathi on Feb 3rd, 2009.
This would surely be a gift for students and kids who always are on a low budget and dream of gadgets like these. But it would be a gift if the launch comes true.

And its expected to launch in the second half of the year, and development of these computers would be given away to the private firms. The price is of what a 4 GB USB drive usually costs, and computer for that price is something catchy for everyone who is short of having a computer/laptop.
The prototype would reveal on how it looks and how much it would be loved.

More news on this, on 3rd Feb when the prototype will be shown.

The guy that is making those green/white laptops is not very friendly with competitors. When Intel started making something similar but better and cheaper, he was like Intel’s worst enemy. The One Laptop Per Child program is not very successful because of him. He makes a bad business partner.

  6. Get the rake Says:

I really like the screens on the sony laptops but to be honest the price is the thing that shys me away from buying them. I tend to stick with Hewlet Packard now!
