New Alexa Feature – Popular Search Terms

Alexa has recently changed the design of its site, and got very sleeky with amazing new options and graph styles, and today it has released a new feature – Search Terms. This feature helps you look up the top searched keywords for that particular site whose info you are checking.

To break it down for those of you who aren’t in the biz, it works like this. People type search terms into search engines. Then people click on sites listed in the results. With a little sifting and sorting, alexa takes that information and rearranges it, so you can see what search terms result in traffic to individual sites.

This helps both the website owner, as well as the competitor in exploring what is being searched more, for the site to be in the top position. This feature is particularly useful if you are planning to buy search terms, or if you are trying to optimize your site for search engines. Now, you can see a list of terms for virtually any site, in sorted order, that are driving traffic. Rather than hunting, pecking and guessing, trying, failing, trying again… you can see what terms actually work for your competitors.

This option can be found in the “Keywords” tab just beside the Traffic Stats, Contact Info and Related Links tabs. This is a cool addition to the present improvements done by Alexa, and we hope to see more soon. This is an example of the Search Terms for zazzle.com shopping site -
