Nokia 5800 Xpressmusic, the touchscreen mobile from Nokia was one of the favorites for many gadget lovers, due to its awesome features like a good camera, touchscreen, the music features and many connectivity options. Nokia is now releasing the similar mobile Nokia 5530 Xpressmusic with a few features taken out of it, for a comparatively lower price, and many would go for it due to the lower price when you are getting the similar design and touchscreen interface.
Here are a features compared between them -
Interface:
Both the phones have totally similar display interface with TFT resistive touchscreen, 16Million colors, 360 x 640 pixels and the screen size of 2.9″.
Camera:
The camera of both Nokia 5800 Xpressmusic and 5530 Xpressmusic are the same. 3.15 MP, with images of 2048 x 1536 pixels, both with Carl Zeiss optics and Autofocus.
Memory:
Nokia 5800 Xpressmusic has 81 MB internal memory, while Nokia 5530 Xpressmusic has got 70 MB internally, while both of them support 16 GB external memory.
Size:
Nokia 5530 Xpressmusic is a bit shrunked version of 5800, with height of 104 mm compared to 111 mm of 5800. And the width, thickness also reduced very less, so you won’t still see big changes in the size too.
Battery:
Nokia 5800 Xpressmusic beats Noia 5530 Xpressmusic here. Battery is of Li-ion make, but the Stand-by, talktime and music playing time for Nokia 5800 Xpressmusic is higher than the latter. This is according to the testers, and BL-4U is the battery for Nokia 5530, which has lesser capacity to hold the power than the BL-5 series battery of Nokia 5800.
Connectivity:
Both the mobiles have conectivity through GPRS, EDGE, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, HSCSD, USB and both do not hold support for infraded connectivity.
But the main points where Nokia 5800 beats Nokia 5530 are -
Nokia 5530 Xpressmusic does not support 3G and GPS. The most needed features for the mobile internet addicts, are not seen in the coming copy of Nokia 5800 Xpressmusic. This is where 5530 falls back.
Nokia 5800 Xpressmusic has GPS with A-GPS support, Nokia Maps 2.0 Touch, 3G with HSDPA at speeds of 3.6 Mbps. Nokia 5530 Xpressmusic lacks both.
Pricing:
Here, Nokia 5530 would be the better choice. Its coming at an expected price of Rs. 14000 in India, and Nokia 5800 Xpressmusic is available for Rs. 19000.
Conclusion:
When its going to be with pricing, you have to compromise with the features too. If you are not a very good internet user, then i would suggest you to go with Nokia 5530 which has all other features as Nokia 5800 excepting the connectivity. Though battery too has some lower standard, but that’s acceptable.
If you are thinking to use the phone for multipurpose, including internet connectivity always, then don’t opt to pay less. Instead buy the Nokia 5800 Xpressmusic.
Though 5800 has all good features for music and all, but for internet use windows phone is preferable, that we can get in HTC for even lower price with all features, without any need to make ourself satisfy.

I would like to mention that you have missed two very important points-
1.5530 has a more powerful 434 mHz CPU as compared to 369 mHz in 5800
2.5530 records video at max resolution of 176×220 whereas 5800 records video at 640×480 i.e DVD quality video recording.

5800 doesnt have kinetic scrolling while 5530 has and 5530 has no tv-out while 5800 has.

next nokia 5800 upgrade scheduled for october will bring along the kinetic scrolling,
one more heads up for 5800 is the tv out which 5530 lacks,
the larger 3.2” screen of 5800 is better suited for ebook readers like me and even for internet browsing

Now that the price of 5800 is brought down ton 13.5K INR, I wonder what would be the price of 5530 when it launches any time from now.
And about the battery. BL-4 series are the ones used in the Eseries, which, I must say is very great. But yeah, won’t match BL-5 though.

ok guyz i got both phones i think the 5800 is better lemme tell u the reason ..
it has a big wide scree bigger than 5530 plus it has the front camera …8gb..double flash …gprs..map..while the 5530 dont got any of maps or double flash or a front camera and it got only 4gb thats not enogh but the 5530 is sharper and looks much cooooler than the 5800 …plus it small and easy hold and deal with it … CHOOSE URS i hope that was useful..

well i would say that i used both nokia 5530 n 5800 . i found 5530 much beter cux it doesnt have that firmware upgrade problem . it ocurs in phonebook , calandr n stuff . i agree it do have tv out dual camera dual flash buh nokia 5530 is more compact with less firmware update n application problems and lourence 5530 also cumx with the same applications which 5800 have cux both release the applications on symbian seris 5 bsis !! thanks would go with 5530 n u shld buy tht one =]
