Nokia 5800 XpressMusic Tube mobile released – Pics and Features
So the iPhone killer phone has finally come live. Crunchgear just posted about it and i am happy to see myself writing about it. The phone looks pretty awesome with the features and looks similar to the iPhone. But the main difference, Nokia 5800 Tube runs on Symbian S60 platform, entirely different from Apple iPhone.
This mobile is more music-centered and not useful for those who are into business-type gadgets. Every feature is in abundance here, and one step ahead of many features of the present N-series and E-series mobile phones of Nokia. The wide screen in this is another plus feature.
The buzz of mobiles was not with Nokia these days, but 5800 comes handy now, creating some great news and buzz all around.
Here are a few features of the Nokia 5800 XpressMusic -
- Media bar showing the easy way of accessing your favorite media menu.
- Contacts bar which helps in sharing media with the visualized contacts in the new user-interface.
- 3G, HSDPA and WLAN are the options for getting connected to the web.
- 3.2″ high resolution display, one of the biggest screens in the Nokia series mobiles.
- Both Stylus and Finger touch support and recognition, helping in text input.
- Stereo speakers with surround sound.
- Dual camera just like Nokia N70, N73 and few others.
- Main camera with 3.2 Megapixel, Autofocus, Carl-Zeiss optics having dual-LED flash.
- Built in A-GPS and nokia maps navigation with option of voice guided navigation.
- 81 MB internal memory and expandable card upto 16 GB microSD.
The 5800 will be available in Europe by year’s end for 279 Euro and it comes with a fancy stylus and an 8GB microSD.
This is one of the gadgets many might have been waiting for from Nokia’s side, and this is the first touchscreen phone which runs on Symbian S60 series. It is said that the web browser coming with the 5800 is not so impressive, but who is calling this as a business mobile? It’s going to be a gadget of choice for style gadget lovers.
Thanks for the images @ crunchgear!
Nokia 5800 price is at 279 EUR before taxes and subsidies. And for Indian markets, it’s not yet decided.

Well I really dont think this can kill the i-phone. And if it does, it wouldn’t last long.

What makes you think in that way Aroah?
It has some features which are far better to look, than the iPhone!

Going with Aroah, i would like to add that iPhone is something entirely different than NokiaTube. This phone cannot kill iPhone but at the same time iPhone is not superior than NTube. As they are much different in many ways, i would say they are not comparable.
I would however give a much better review of the phone after i get it. I’m planning to order one for one my younger brother. However i would still like to see Sony Ericsson XPERIA before i get my hands on NTube. Besides, Nokia is yet to match Sony Ericsson’s sound quality!

@Sharat – Have to at least agree with your thoughts on Sound clarity. Nothing is comparable to what Sony Ericsson produces. Phones by them are designed to produce the best sound quality.
And if you talk about the cam, we would come to a decision when we can have 5800 tube in our hands and compare it to any cybershot 3.2 MP phone from Sony!
