Palm Pre – The ultimate iPhone killer

June 4th, 2009 | View Comments

Many phones came into the market with the name of iPhone killer, but none of them went upto the mark and iPhone remained the best for most of the time(including the best flickr photo capture phone), but now the Palm Pre has somethings in it to call itself the iPhone killer.

Just prior to the release of the new iPhone, there will be the release of Palm Pre which was into making since long, and it comes with a new OS called WebOS which has features much more than calling/messaging and web browsing. Some of the features are like loads of 3rd party apps, social networking made-easy and many other tools for businessmen and gaming. And like most of the other hi-level smartphones, Wi-Fi is available.

Initially the Palm Pre would be launched under Sprint network, but later other networking would be joining in. And to beat the iPhone’s image, the Pre is also going for a $200 contract price, but with some terms like $100 mail-in rebate and limited production. So not everyone would be lucky enough to get a Palm Pre in their hands during the release time.

It surely would beat the Android based G1 phone whose design was not satisfactory, and Palm Pre too has an external physical keyboard apart from the beautiful touch interface. The phone when compared to the iPhone has a smaller design, a bit thicker and a sleek curved edges body. The touch options are featured with Multitouch interface, and when various windows are open, they can be flipped around each other.

Synergy – A new feature in this Palm Pre can pull down common contacts from Facebook and Google and also display multiple calendars from both the sources.
The camera is 3-megapixel and has a flash option(iPhone doesn’t have one) but it can not record videos.

There are many other features to talk about, but i would share a good review from someone who actually has it, when the phone is released on June 6th, prior to the June 8th release of the new iPhone.
Sure this phone has features that can easily beat the iPhone but everything speaks out after the release of the phone.
