How to remove annoying facebook advertisements?

Facebook shows some annoying ads sometimes just below or between the things you use there, and it becomes more annoying when you can do nothing with that. Can’t avoid those ads or status messages which you don’t really want or expect in such a neat social network.

facebookAs there is no direct option, this script for Greasemonkey would help you out in clearing the ads, and making facebook cleaner. It is called – Facebook: Cleaner

Here is what Facebook: Cleaner does -

This script removes many of the annoying ads and updates that unavoidably appear on your Facebook pages. There are cleverer Facebook tidy scripts out there, but this one is nice and simple and possibly easier to update as new adverts come along. It’s also very easy to customise, should you want some of the sections that are blocked here by default to actually appear.

This plugin also has the ability to suppress the ability to use the chat box to chat with friends in facebook, if you don’t wish to.

It is a greasemonkey script that needs your browser to have to greasemonkey add-on installed. You can download the Cleaner script from Userscripts.org

This will help, but I’m seriously considering deleting my facebook account altogether. I only ever use it to check messages, so it’s like it’s just another email account for me to open. Besides, did any of you read that news item about facebook trying to say that user-posted content belongs to them?

That’s a nice smart idea…isn’t there an Adsense blocker too?

  5. tv says:

Now, if I could just use a similar ad-blocker strategy for all the sites I go to!

  6. Varun says:

Nice idea and guys if any one really comes up with an adsence blocker many blog owners will go bankrupt.
