A website’s backlink strength and its page power is usually determined by its position in SERPs in Google, Yahoo, MSN etc. And the 2nd major factor that determines the strength of a website is the Search engine spider crawl rate. i.e. the rate at which Search engine spiders like Google etc. come to crawl our website content.
I’ve found a tool that might be helpful in checking the crawl rate of Search engine spiders of Google, read below -
SEOMeter.com is a free web-based tool that helps webmasters like me in SEO Analysis. I just happened to come across this website yesterday, and I thought it was worth sharing with you people here.
Coming to the website’s look and feel, at the first instant it looks rather pleasing to the eyes as the WordPress powered website is well laid out. The age of the site is just about 40 days, at the time of this writing.
Coming to what the site does for you, it offers a tool that’s easy to understand and use and allows webmasters to monitor the crawling activities of search engines on their site. The tool records the statistics in a database and displays the stats in the form of a graph that, in my opinion, is pretty user-friendly. At the moment, however, only Google is monitored as it’s the only search engine that allows free, public access to cache timestamps. However, SEOMeter.com plans to add more search engines soon.
The major benefit of using this tool, in my opinion, is that it can detect if there’s any site specific problem interfering with the crawling by the search engine(s). While the site also claims to diagnose the problem after detecting it, I’m yet to check on that.
Another benefit of using SEOMeter.com is that it can help an SEO Expert to check his performance in regards to his / her customers’ websites. I, personally am of the opinion, that it is a handy tool that can help check the performance of your directory submission process. Once you’ve submitted your website or article (with a link to your site, of course) to some directories, you just need to sit back and watch the progress.
Also, the directory owners are well benefited by this, and they can check the rate by which their web directories are crawled by Google spiders, and there is also a list of the most crawled web directories.
One blog post of interest that I found on this website is a pretty informative article. You can look for the title, “What determines Search Engine’s crawl rate?” or click here to reach that post. I suggest you to read the article as it can tell you how the search engines crawl to your website. This information can help you optimize your website accordingly to rank higher in the search engines, bringing yet another stream of targeted traffic for free. You also get the option of received new blog posts of this site via e-mail feeds or by using SpringWidgets to add the content to your website or blog. Indeed, a useful feature that I’m planning to add later today.
Also, one thing I’d like to note about this free online tool is that it stores Google’s cache history of only the last three months. While TLD (Top-level domain) or sub-domain submission remains free, internal URL submission is a paid service. Overall, I’d rate it a 4 on a star scale of 5. Have you checked this website yet?
Hope to see you support me and help me buy an iPhone 3G next month. Please Donate!
