Always sharing the long URLs or any affiliate links does not look good and the same thing goes in social networks and microblogging sites like twitter where you need to have short messages posted, and if the URL in the message itself takes most of the space, what message can you include with it? And so, there are URL shortening services of which most famous are bit.ly, tinyurl, go2me, tr.im and many other but all of them are non-secured.

tini logoSometimes you need to share a few URLs with just few people securely and want them to be short, so Tini.us is a URL shortening service with password protection for the URL.
URL shortening with tini.us is not just like a basic service. Here you can choose from the following -

  • Normal tini – Just a short URL like other services, with no special additions or features
  • Super tini – Review the shortened URL and aggregate comments about it
  • Secure tini – URL shortening along with password protection. Set a password and the visitor has to enter the password to open the actual URL from the tiny URL
  • Ninja tini – Both password protection and reviews for the shortened URL

Creating a secured tiny URL

Just go to tini.us and in the homepage itself, the table shows the options and as shown in the below image, create a secure tini -

Then you are asked for the password when the URL is created, just below that creation table -

And that’s done. Try opening the URL – tini.us/chetan and you would be asked for the password to enter the URL which is shortened.
A very nice service, but the only thing i feel that is lacking is the stats feature which is available in tr.im and bit.ly URL shorteners. Also there are 3 URLs which you can choose from to have the prefix – tini.us, poourl.com and justlink.us!
