Syngric, a less known home-grown startup has made their first ever Android smartphone with the mid-range specifications, named the Synrgic Uno and this first production has been done at their Synrgic’s Singapore R&D center. The phone according to the the makers, is known to be “delivering quality features with surprising value”. The processor included in the phone would be dual-core 1.5GHz TI OMAP 4470 CPU as they went away from the normal NVIDIA or the Qualcomm one while the speedy usage has been maintained by the 1GB dual channel LPDDR2, while keeping the SGX544 GPU as the graphics unit.
The 4.7-inch capacitive touchscreen has a 720p HD display, having the 312ppi pixel density. It’s the S-IPS LCD, and this comes with an oleophobic coating that resists the fingerprints while the Gorilla Glass protection makes it scratch-resistant but won’t be able to take much pressure and is not comparable to the newer screens in the latest devices from HTC, Sony etc. because the Gorilla Glass included is the older version one.
Camera wise, the rear shooter in the Synrgic Uno is an 8-megapixel lens, that comes with the LED Flash and there’s a capability to record the videos at 1080p Full HD quality. The front side has got a 2-megapixel camera and the front even has got the dual microphones which assist in the noise cancellation.
The Uno runs on the Android 4.0.4 Ice Cream Sandwich OS, and the OS version doesn’t end here because the makers would be sending the Android 4.2 Jelly Bean updates pretty soon, probably in the last quarter of 2013.
The phone packs in some neat features in all the aspects, with the connectivity options being Quad Band 3G(HSPA), Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth Version 3.0, Bluetooth with A2DP, GPS and Near Field Communication. There’s FM Radio too included, and just like most of the Android devices, the Synrgic Uno can be used as a Wi-Fi hotspot to share the data network connectivity with the compatible devices around. The only standard feature that we can see missing is the GLONASS support with the GPS.
The 2300mAh battery included in the Synrgic Uno has got a good 12 hour talktime on the 3G network, and the storage included is 16GB onboard storage, and this can be expanded to 32GB using a MicroSD card.
“Synrgic Exchange” is a service provided by the company where the users who find any faults in the smartphone can get it exchanged with a completely new one within one year of the purchase, the Exchange warranty being available for one year. This can be a good option rather than using the warranty to get the phone repaired.
The Uno is going to be priced at around US $320, and it would be available on the online store of Synrgic initially before entering the retail offline market. The device would roll out in the next quarter, and Indonesia, Thailand, Malaysia and China would be the countries where we would see the device going for sale initially. The pricing is for the contract-free version and there is no information about the device availability through network operators with any contracts.
