Text-to-speech software download for Nokia mobiles

nokia text to speechThis software reads out all the text that is seen in a text message, multimedia message, e-mail in your mobile phone. Here is what text-to-speech software actually is -

  • A convenient and hands-free way to access your messages.
  • Available to users of compatible Nokia Series 60 mobile phones.
  • Offered in a range of different languages and voices.

There is a Message Reader application that comes pre-installed in some of the Symbian phones, and only in those, this software comes to use. A single software does not come with all the languages installed in it but you have to download a particular software for every language.

This software is compatible in the following phones -
Nokia E50, E51, E61i, E65, E90 Communicator, N75, N78, N81, N96, 5500 Sport, 5700 XpressMusic, 6110 Navigator, 6120 classic, 6121 classic, 6210 Navigator, 6220 classic, and 6290 phones.

Download and install the software in this process -
1. Select the language you want at this page, and you would be able to download the software for that language, to a compatible computer.
2. You need to select a voice package for the language you need and then download that one to the computer.
3. Transfer the language and voice packages to your phone using Nokia PC Suite and a compatible Nokia cable or wireless connection.

Still, if you want to check about the application of your phone, check the Nokia user guide for that.

* This software is useful when you get any unusually large emails that are important to read, and you can’t strain your eyes for long reading that on your mobile. Just open this software and let the phone talk everything for you.

Here are the languages available -
English, Danish, Dutch, French, Greek, Italian, Norwegian, Polish, Portuguese, Russian, Spanish, Swedish, UK English, Japanese, Thai, Bahasa Indonesia, Chinese, Latin American and North American. There are separate text-to-speech softwares and voice packages for these languages.

Shouldnt it be combined with the same technology using it the other way round also – i.e. Speech to text also. Do away with keyboards and punching of messages on the little screens !! These type of mobiles could be used by handicapped persons also !! those who can speak and see and cant hear or vice versa !!

  6. Good one. I can use this when I’m too tired to read the entire mail and want something that can read the entire thing for me. I just switch the option on, and keep the phone aside listening to what it speaks.
