This is a new feature that i saw yesterday in the web news all over, and still under development by the Digg Scientists. This feature would help users to filter from the thousands of stories that are submitted everyday.
Many of you might not be knowing that everyday, more than 15000 stories are being submitted to Digg and no one is interested and having time to go through most of them to find and read the best ones. Its just a big and hard task.

The Digg Recommendation Engine helps you find diggers who digg on stories which you digg and find the most common stories and categories for you which are recommended by the other users. This helps in narrowing down your search for stories.
Diggers who digg on similar stories and submit too, are called as “Diggers Like You.” and stories dugg by them are taken under a new category called as Recommendations.
And this Recommendation engine helps in finding stories that are the latest ones and not the old ones, so these still have the potential to reach the homepage. So these are still promotable stories.
Anton Kast has written a whitebook about it and how it works, which you can check out here.
Here are a few glimpses of what am talking about and what it is actually -

this seems to be a good feature if we get this feature
I agree Ajay.
I was not aware that 15,000 stories are submitted sounds like a lot but considering the number of people that use Digg, seems fair.
