The WWW Blog upgraded to WordPress 2.7

December 25th, 2008 | View Comments

I had waited and read about many issues with WordPress 2.7 which was released recently and did not want to shift to the new version until people made me sure that its not going to be a bad upgrade. Not only me, but many other users had expected a lot better features from this new version, but just after the release, i saw many friends sharing posts about the bad features and faults with it. So i decided to wait before going for the next step.

Finally the dashboard is changed totally with the upgrade, and it would take time to get used to it. The dashboard home is excellent with the quickpress column where am presently writing the post, and the features and columns can be moved or removed, added and totally played with.

Will review the entire upgrade with the changes in the dashboard and the other changes such as plugin upgrades, theme compatibility etc. in future posts after i totally use the dashboard and move around.
Still i have upgraded only this blog of mine, and would do the others when satisfied with this.

How many of you upgraded to the new wordpress version?
If upgraded, how would you rate it?

I have upgraded to wordpress 2.7 the day after it has been released.

  3. Syed Balkhi Says:

I haven’t upgraded it yet because WP-Affiliate doesn’t work with it.

  4. Amit Bhawani Says:

I guess the top commentors part should be moved to the right sidebar, isnt it?

  5. Chetan Says:

Or should the top commentators section be removed totally?
Need people to answer to this..

  6. Chetan Says:

Syed, Is that the only reason? I am actually impressed with the interface right now. I used to have plugins to reply comments from admin panel, but everything comes pre-loaded without any need of plugins for that. Still, checking many other things and seeing how it goes.

  7. Amit Says:

Yes the admin interface is really impressive and also is good to upgrade keeping security in mind.
