Published by Chetan on October 6, 2008 – 5:13 am8 Comments

Ok so here comes the 5th Monday video in the video series, and this one is helpful for those who are really bad at php and the codes(includes me). Let me explain you why is this video being shared and what it includes.

Editing any theme, that be a wordpress blog, or any forum software or a static website, requires some knowledge in coding. And not everyone is perfect with it. Especially when editing a wordpress theme, there are several sections in a single page which have to be separately edited to completely show changes made.
Like the top section comes under header.php, the content section comes under index.php if the homepage, or single.php if its the single post page. So a small change to be made will make us think which part of the page it is and how to edit it.

This video shows you how to open the theme files in your wordpress dashboard and then edit any part of the blog theme.
Note – This video is an old one, so has tutorial for wordpress version which is earlier than 2.5, and so the only difference is that, in the older versions, it is the “Presentation” section where you have to go if at all you want to edit the theme files, and in the newer versions, you need to edit the “Design” section.

This video also includes how to include newsletter signup note below every post content, and also how to play with the colors of the theme. It is given by Jon from ninjablogsetup.com and here is the video -
