Twitter for Android phone application – Twitroid

twitroid logoTwitter addicts can’t leave the site if they change their gadget, especially a mobile phone. So with the lately Google G1 Android phone coming into the market, twitter related apps had to come in for the best user experience with the micro blogging site.

Twitroid is the client for Google android phone that has all the features that a normal user expects and has in the twitter website, including following, tweeting, replying and sending direct messages. Some features as the twitroid site says:

  • Postings, replies & direct messages
  • User detail information
  • Follow/unfollow a user
  • Auto-completion of your contact names
  • Secured operation via SSL
  • Directly integrated photo-posting from cam or disk via phodroid.com
  • Directly integrated search through all public tweets
  • Background notifications for replies & direct messages
  • Auto layout for landscape and portrait mode

As the app is in beta stage, there might be some bugs but you should ignore those as you would love this app to be on the Google android.

    @Amar: Not as of now i think.. there is still lot of developments that Android has to see in U.S. before it goes totally international.

    I just got the G1 and LOVE IT. My only question is if the Twits via Twitroid count as text messages. Obviously the simple fix is to go to the unlimited txt plan, but am holding off on that atm, since Twitter was the only reason I was texting so much anyway! And I can just access it via the browser if they do count as txts
