One of the blogging and content management systems, Typepad is now including an Antispam feature in its hosted blogs to fight against spam and keep the blogs unique with non-spammy comments. This premium blogging service had been giving this feature for self hosted typepad blogs but not for free hosted ones, but after the beta releases of the Antispam ends, this service will be free to use for anyone.

Techcrunch owner Michael Arrington, says that it is nothing less than Akismet for wordpress. In fact Akismet is not just for wordpress but is available for Drupal, Movable Type and many others. And soon, the antispam developer “Six Apart” is developing the software for other blogging platforms very soon.

As the Typepad Antispam is new and in beta version, it wants typepad users to help for its betterment to identify spam more easily. And Typepad is there for wordpress too for versions 2.3 and 2.5 available as a plugin. Movable Type also supports Antispam.

Just click on the “Report Spam” function whenever you feel it as a spam, and then Typepad Antispam will see this for you in the future!
