So this term and this topic also is popular since quite a few months, and there are many flaws pointed out about a web directory, and many positive points too. I finally thought to write up something like a tutorial explaining everything about a web directory. And am dividing this post into 6 essential parts -

- What are the best tools for a web directory?
- How to make money from web directories?
- How to launch a successful web directory?
- Free or paid directories. Which is best for link building?
- Talking about bid directories
Check all the above links and posts which i could write for people wanting to know more about web directories. Keep in mind that i am not a big web directory Mogul but am just trying to explain everything in my words, and feel it will be useful for people to understand the underneath of web directories.

I have one directory and isn’t doing quite well. I get lots of spam submissions and get so tired to editing them out. Maybe I am not doing it right. I will read your article thoroughly and lets see how it will go on.
