Attracting new readers to blogs is an important part of blogging, as new blog has very less potential to gain RSS subscribers, and their visiting back to the blog is a point of worry for the blogger. A lot of people will tell you that content is the key. Create content of value to your target audience and your readers will have a reason to return at a later time. However, what kind of posts can be used to attract new readers to blogs and make them subscribe to the posts?
The answer boils down to topical articles. Depending on your chosen niche for your blog it is important that you keep on top of your niche. For example if your blog is a computer games and console blog, you need to blog about the next buzz words in that industry. This first thing people do when hearing of a new console or game is to hit google and search for it straight away. If you have blogged about this and have good search engine optimisation then the chances are that you will pick up some new readers.
Not only must your article be topical but also unique and in your own particular style. It is essential that your post reads well and is addictive. Your reader needs to feel that they must finish reading the article. If they read the whole post and enjoy it the will most likely comment on and send a link to friends. Comments on articles work wonders for getting readers. If a reader looks at a post and sees comments have been made, then they are more likely to read the post.
So in all it is not just down to great content a topical post that attracts readers to a blog, but also word of mouth from its readers. The key then is to make up-to-date posts to attract readers through search engines then allow the readers to bring you the next lot of traffic. And one of the most negative points for me is that i am not able to post regularly as am a student and cannot be always on the net to post something. Will try to be online from now on regularly and try to attract visitors. ![]()
