Why do you blog?

Blogging has become one of the major activities in the life of most of the webmasters, and some are entirely converted to bloggers and probloggers. There is no niche in which blogs are not being made, and the popularity and passion of blogging is increasing each day. There are many blogging platforms in the blogosphere, like Blogger, Wordpress, Typepad, LiveJournal and lot more others. And most of them see thousands of blogs built each day. Many people of these make blogs just because they want to, and want to tell their friends that they actually know what blogging is and what fun lies behind it. Others do it to post about their life like in a diary, not caring whether someone would read it or not.

Here are a few reasons why people might be blogging

Business IconPromoting business - Large companies and businesses have blogs to promote their online business and let their clients and customers know about any upcoming offers/changes in the blog. This is the easiest way for them to spread the news into the online world.

Money BloggingMoney - Many professional bloggers blog and build their blog with the intention of just making money. They share money making tips, and through affiliate links in those tips, they too make money. It’s a perfect idea to make money, and help others make money too.

For Fame - Small percentage of bloggers blog just to make their name higher or get noticed in the world. They may be blogging about random stuff and people talk about them and share thoughts about them. People have suggested me this reason for blogging, but i have never came across anyone who has been blogging just for fame.

NetworkingNetworking - Networking between businesses/bloggers is one of the reasons for blogging. Friendliness between bloggers and interlinking increases and bloggers can make good networks among themselves and share some good knowledge and time, finally can do some business if needed.

Blogging for fun - Many bloggers keep on writing stuff daily what comes to their mind, not caring of who is following it and who is reading it. They make blogging as their passion and just for fun. They just love writing. And also taking photographs and making photo blogs is also a type of fun making by blogging.

I was just curious to know a few people’s thoughts on blogging and why they blog

Sharat: I blog because i think that is the best and fastest way in today’s time to spread my thoughts around the web/world.
Money, fame and networking comes with blogging. I won’t say that money etc are the only things that makes me blog, but yes these do count.

Michael Dammann – I blog because I want to connect with those who might have similar thoughts, issues, opinions, questions as I do and those you may be able to give me answers to mine. I blog because I believe I have something to say and want to reach those who could be interested in hearing it and passing it on to an audience I haven’t reached yet. There is nothing more gratifying than being yourself, no more, no less and getting feedback of positive nature when you yourself didn’t even expect or look for it.

Amit Nyamtabad – I blog so that I can connect with other like-minded people like me (on the topics I blog) and try to attempt that my blog becomes a tool or hub to have unbiased discussions and ultimately everyone is benefited by the knowledge that they bring to the table.

Jason – I blog well…. there’s no set reason. I originally started TUK as part of a competition with friends (that has now sizzled out) but developing a group of readers, those that interact in a community is definitely one of the things that inspires me to continue. I hope to keep on expanding this community, to the point where I have 1,000 unique visitors and maybe even website t-shirts

I also blog for money – whilst I do not make a lot of it relative to the work I put in on TUK yet, a lot of my copywriting jobs come from people that have glanced across the blog and liked what they saw.

I myself blog to make some side income as pocket money, also for networking, but not really for fame in the world. Blogging has always been fun for me!
So now, Why do you blog???

I love blogging
