Google chrome is finally able to have extensions, and here is the first example. As i said earlier, there are different channels of the browser for different levels of users, and here is how to switch between google chrome channels.

And here is GooglePedia extension for Google Chrome which gives Wikipedia pages in the Google search result pages along with the search results. And here are a few features of the extension -

  • The internal links of Wikipedia are changed into Google search links.
  • Images are shrunk and are directly linked to their full versions.
  • The sponsored results in Google search pages are gone.
  • Inbuilt buttons available to shrink, expand or disable the plugin anytime.

To use this extension you need to be a developer, and have to use the dev channel for Google chrome. To install the GooglePedia extension download it and run. Then follow these steps:
> Start Google Chrome & Click the ‘Wrench’ icon, then ‘About’ and then ‘Check For Updates’ and wait for the update to finish. This would get the latest Dev Version of Chrome installed.
> Close the Chrome window, Add –enable-extensions to your Chrome command line by right clicking on Chrome application shortcut; as in image and restart Chrome again.

Then run the extension and it would get installed if you already switched to the dev channel.
You can download the GooglePedia extension for Google Chrome from here.
