Microsoft confirmed the date of launch of its new OS Windows 7 as October 22, 2009. Everything can be done correctly if the development of the final versions is done by next month end.

Accd. to microsoft, the feedback for the release candidates has been good and they expect the same after the final release.
As of the present windows users, they should have to pay to upgrade to the new OS if they wish.

And the buyers who had bought Windows Vista just near the release date of Windows 7, would be given a free or discounted upgrade to the Windows 7 OS. And still the upgrade would be applicable to only those buyers who had purchased Windows Vista Premium and not the basic version.

Microsoft has said that Windows 7 will come in five different editions in most markets–Starter, Home Premium, Professional, Enterprise and Ultimate. And accd. to Microsoft, a Windows 7 basic version would also be sold in a few markets.
