This is the 3rd week of plugin reviews, and this time’s cool plugin for wordpress is – wp-stats for wordpress by Lesterchan.net
It’s such a cool plugin which you should surely install in your blog as it has loads of features and opens up every stat in your blog. Ok let me list out what all can you see in the stats page which i already did for my blog.
Gross blog statistics -
- How many authors to this blog.
- How many posts were posted.
- Total number of pages that were created.
- How many tags were created.
- Total number of comments posted in the blog.
- How many different nicknames were represented in the comments.
- How many links were added.
- Number of post categories were needed.
- Number of link categories were needed.
- Number of spam commets blocked.
That’s not it. You can see the latest 20 activity in the blog, like the recent posts, recent comments and the most commented posts.
Stats about each author and each commentator is also given by this plugin. It is an excellent stat plugin. And you show download and use it.
How to install -
- Download the plugin zip file
- Extract and upload the wp-stats folder to wp-content/plugins
- Activate it in the dashboard plugins panel
How to use this plugin -
- Go to ‘WP-Admin -> Write -> Write Page’
- Type any title you like in the post’s title area
- After typing the title, WordPress will generate the permalink to the page. You will see an ‘Edit’ link just beside the permalink.
- Click ‘Edit’ and type in ‘stats’ in the text field (without the quotes) and click ‘Save’.
- Type ‘[page _ stats]‘ in the post’s content area (without the quotes and without the spaces)
- Click ‘Publish’
- If you ARE NOT using nice permalinks, you need to go to ‘WP-Admin -> Settings -> Stats’ and under ‘Stats URL’, you need to fill in the URL to the Stats Page you created above.
