Youtube soon showing full MGM movies – New channel named Impact
A deal between the video-sharing site Youtube and Hollywood Studio Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer’s (MGM) has brought a decision to show full length movies in the website, these movies would be only which were with MGM studio. The collaboration is mainly aimed at earning advertising revenue for both YouTube and the studio.
This deal is also bringing in “Impact”, a channel which would deal with delivery of full length movies, TV shows and original clips.
Jim Packer, co-president of MGM Worldwide Television says -
I think it will grow into a nice little business. I think YouTube has something that a lot of sites don’t have. They have a lot of people walking through their front door everyday. And if they are smart in how they grow this, YouTube should have a successful business also.
The movies would be available for download(check download youtube videos post for some tips), not directly though but through those thousands of sites that help in downloading the videos.
But still, the videos would contain advertisements which is the only earner for Youtube and MGM.
There will be one more channel, which will feature episodes from the popular programme ‘American Gladiators’ from the 1980s and 1990s. One who misses some TV shows and any movie clips on the television, would not be sad that they missed them, as Youtube would be featuring those.
Some channels in Youtube are going to be made only for women to view, for only TV viewers to enjoy and some others. James Bond movies though would not be fully available on Youtube.

OK, heard about this on another blog….however they didn’t mention MGM movies only. How long before SONY jumps onto the bandwagon?
