90di – The best Indian travel search engine

This is not a paid review. This is a review of a travel portal and my thoughts about it.

90di logoThis is as said by the startup team: 90di.com is a Bangalore based travel meta search startup which is trying to solve the complexities of planning a travel with the help of technological innovation. It is founded by three former Infy engineers in year 2007.

Due the diversity of travel modes and presence of thousands of big, medium and small cities, long distance travel planning is very tedious in India. Until recently trains were the favorite medium for travel for long distances. But due to lowering of air fares, wider air connectivity, better roads and introduction of hi tech comfortable buses, situation have changed.

To take advantage of all these new travel options travelers need to collect all these information and then compare and cobmine all available options to select the best option for him. 90di makes all this information available to travelers and helps them choose the best option.

Some of the interesting and unique features of 90di are:

  • Routing from any place to any place, with a coverage of more than 5000 Indian cities and bus, train and flight routes.
  • Multi mode and mixed mode(train+flight) travel options.
  • Option of specifying your query in simple English sentences(NLP)
  • Latest train/flight/bus fare and train seats availability information
  • Option to see travel routes on map.
  • Near search: If there are no routes to a city then suggest nearby cities and routes till those cities.

90di search

90di is trying to fill an information gap in Indian online travel Industry and aims to become one stop website to all travel related information in India.

My take on this site:
I found 90di through twitter, where they were sharing some best routes between places, and i loved the way it was displayed in the site.
The features like searching in the way you want, and still getting the relevant results is really cool.

Apart from that, the user interface and the ease of search and using the site is another plus point for users who don’t like too complicated things while searching and booking tickets! And the ticket booking features are available for all the transport ways like Flights, Trains and Buses.

There is a lot to say about the site, but will post a complete review when I find time to do so. Check out the site at 90di.com
