Apple September 10th event was one among the main highlights in tech industry last week. The next generation of Apple iPhone and a cheaper version of the same has been rumored since a long time and was finally announced publicly in the event hosted by Apple in Cupertino on September 10. Apple enthusiasts expected a lot about the next iPhone. However, Apple took a stand by keeping up with their old standards and introducing newer features. As the iPhone 5S was the major highlight of the Apple event, today we will be discussing about the iPhone 5S. and about what makes the iPhone 5S different from its predecessor, the iPhone 5.
Apple iPhone 5S was just announced with a lot of new features, a better camera and other several enhancements. It’s the first smartphone in the world with a 64-bit A7 chipset, which takes the performance to the next level and speed double to that of the previous chipset. The screen is the same, having a 4-inch retina display, but with the iOS 7 having a support for the new hardware enhancements, it would look all good in that same compact screen, because most of the other hardware is changed.
Apple iPhone 5S: The New Best
The rumors about the next iPhone started pretty soon after the launch of the iPhone 5. Rumors included a bigger screen, a better camera and including all other usual suspects. However, when the iPhone 5S was finally launched, Apple opted to keep up with their old physical standards, and bringing newer additions to their software and technology section.
One of the most important factor, that distinguishes Apple iPhone 5S from its predecessors is that it will run the latest iOS 7 by default. And that, the Apple iPhone 5S will be the first smartphone to support 64-bit applications, along with the traditional 32-bit apps. And Apple has specially re-engineered their default softwares and settings to support the 64- bit standard of the Apple iPhone 5S.
Apple opted to stay with their A7 chip that we saw in the Apple iPhone 5, however the processor now hosts a M7 chip that helps separately measuring data’s obtained by sensors such as Compass and Gyroscope. Apple boasts the iPhone 5S to be twice as faster than its predecessor and 40 times faster than the original iPhone.
Apple also introduced the most-awaited fingerprint scanner, termed as “Touch ID”. The fingerprint scanning sensors are built in to the Home button, and the home button is also covered with Sapphire crystals to protect the sensors from scratches.
Apple iPhone 5S has the same 8MP camera, as seen in the iPhone 5. However, Apple introduced a 5 element, 15% bigger sensor to accommodate more lighting into the photos. Also, a new dual type LED flash along has been added that automatically adjusts flash lighting, to give better skin tone results in your pictures. The iPhone 5S will release in 3 different color variants. A new gold color variant has been added apart from the usual black and white models. Apple also claims that their iPhone 5S can stand upto 10 hours without charging on 3G connectivity.
Final Words:
Even though the physical appearance of the iPhone 5S looks same as its predecessor, major advancements has been made in terms of software, camera and processing technology. Major additions includes a better camera processing technology, improved battery life and a new fingerprint scanning technology. Apple even launched the iPhone 5C, and when compared to it, the iPhone 5S really looks like something very much advanced and a high-end device with the Touch ID which can add to the security, and Apple hasn’t just launched it with a basic sensor but has included something exceptional which might actually serve some purpose.
